About Dumoplet
Думоплет (Dumoplet, dumoplet.bg) publishes one new puzzle in each of its four games every day. The day rolls over at midnight Europe/Sofia and every player gets the same puzzles.
The interface is available in English, but the puzzles themselves are always Bulgarian: the answers, the dictionary of accepted guesses and the on-screen keyboard are all Cyrillic. The site is for Bulgarian speakers and for anyone learning the language — translating the words would make it a different game.
Where the name comes from
Думоплет (Dumoplet) is built from дума — “word” — and плета, “to weave” or “to braid”: a word-weaver. The flagship game takes it one step further: Думоплетеница is дума plus плетеница, a braid or interlacing, so it reads as “a braid of words”. And Думобер (Dumober) follows гроздобер, the grape harvest: a word-harvest — you go back to the same seven letters until you have picked everything.
The games
- Думоплетеница (Dumopletenica) — guess a five-letter word in six tries. Green means the letter is in the right place, yellow means it appears elsewhere.
- Думоплетеница 500 — the same puzzle, except you are told only how many letters you got right, never which ones. A win reads “5·0·0”. Eight tries.
- Паметница (Pametnica) — the same game as Dumopletenica, except the letters do not stay. Once the tiles flip you get a few seconds to memorise them, then they fade and only the colours remain on the board. The keyboard gives nothing away either.
- Думобер (Dumober) — a word harvest. Build words of at least four letters from seven given ones, always including the centre letter. You have two minutes, and every word you find adds a few seconds. The day is solved by the longest word or by twenty words found.
The words
The dictionary comes from open Bulgarian word lists, ranked by how commonly each word is used so that obscure entries never become answers. The daily answers for both Dumopletenica games are picked by hand in advance; the generator only proposes candidates.
Accounts and statistics
You can play without an account. An account stores your statistics — games played, win percentage, current and longest streak — so they are identical on every device. There are no ads and no cross-site tracking — we only count page views, without cookies; the privacy policy spells out exactly what is stored.
