About Dumoplet
Думоплет (Dumoplet, dumoplet.bg) publishes one new puzzle in each of its four games every day. The day rolls over at midnight Europe/Sofia and every player gets the same puzzles — they are derived from the date rather than handed out at random. Everything runs in the browser, free and without an account.
The interface is available in English, but the puzzles themselves are always Bulgarian: the answers, the dictionary of accepted guesses and the on-screen keyboard are all Cyrillic. The site is for Bulgarian speakers and for anyone learning the language — translating the words would make it a different game.
Where the name comes from
Думоплет (Dumoplet) is built from дума — “word” — and плета, “to weave” or “to braid”: a word-weaver. The flagship game takes it one step further: Думоплетеница is дума plus плетеница, a braid or interlacing, so it reads as “a braid of words” — formed exactly the way Bulgarian builds кръстословица, its word for a crossword.
The games
- Думоплетеница (Dumopletenica) — guess a five-letter word in six tries. Green means the letter is in the right place, yellow means it appears elsewhere.
- Думоплетеница 500 — the same puzzle, except you are told only how many letters you got right, never which ones. A win reads “5·0·0”. Eight tries.
- Дупъл (Dupal) — a four-letter word ladder: change one letter per move until you reach the target. You cannot lose and moves are unlimited; matching par is the challenge.
- Пчеличка (Pchelichka) — a spelling bee. Build words of at least four letters from seven given ones, always including the centre letter. A pangram scores a bonus, and reaching the “Genius” rank solves the day.
The words
The dictionary comes from open Bulgarian word lists, ranked by how commonly each word is used so that obscure entries never become answers. The daily answers for both Dumopletenica games are picked by hand in advance; the generator only proposes candidates.
Accounts and statistics
You can play without an account. A free account stores your statistics — streaks, wins, average solving time and guess distribution — so they are identical on every device. There are no ads and no visitor tracking; the privacy policy spells out exactly what is stored.
